Multi Cultural Activities


Indian Museum in collaboration with Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) organized a cultural programme on Bharatnatyam and Mohiniattam performed by Malabika Sen, followed by a ballet, titled Rituranga-season’s galore, performed by Kalamandalam, choreographed by Guru Smt. Thankamani Kutty, on 26 June 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Asutosh Birth Centenary Auditorium of Indian Museum. Prizes were distributed to the performers by Sri M. K. Narayanan, H. E. the Governor of West Bengal , Hon’ble Chairman, Board of Trustees, Indian Museum. The entire programme was conducted by the Director, Indian Museum.



On the occasion of Durga Puja, the Indian Museum organized an exhibition titled ‘Saktirupena: an exposition of mother goddess in India Art’ at Asutosh Birth centenary Hall on 23 September 2011. To coincide with the event, Indian Museum has also organised Cultural Events with Purulia Chhau, Santhal Dance and Dhak at the Archaeological garden, Indian Museum.

3. Indian Museum organised a cultural programme on 24 September 2011, at the auditorium of Indian Museum. Sri Sandipan Samajpati, an eminent vocalist performed Hindusthani Classical music.
4. Indian Museum organised a programme titled ‘An Instrumental Journey with Sitar by Manju Meheta’, Eminent Exponent of Indian Sitar on 15 January 2012 at the courtyard of Indian Museum.

6. Santoor Vandana by Sri Suddhasil Chatterjee at the courtyard of Indian Museum on 3 February 2012.
7. Classical Hindustani Vocal by Sri Anindya Bhattacharya at the courtyard of Indian Museum on 4 February 2012.
