 Indian Museum , Calcutta and Govt. of India Regional Tourist Office, Calcutta presents Nritya-Durga, A multidisciplinary dance recital on Goddess Durga on the occasion of World Tourism Day coinciding with Mahalaya celebration at the Indian Museum Auditorium.

Inter-State Museum Exhibition on GLIMPSES OF MIZO HERITAGE from the collections of Mizoram State Museum, Aizawl and an evening of dance & music from Mizoram as a part of Uttarpurvi sanskriti samaroha at the Indian Museum Auditorium & Exhibition hall on Monday, November 20, 2000 at 5.30 p.m.

Prof. Satyasadhan Chakraborty -- Hon'ble Minister, in-charge, Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal had inaugurated the exhibition. Sri Aichhinga --Hon'ble Minister, in-charge of Art & Culture, Govt. of Mizoram graced the occasion as Guest-in-chief and Dr. R.V. V. Ayyar-- Secretary, Culture, Govt. of India presided over the function.

was held at the Indian Museum exhibition hall.

Dr. (Mrs) Kapila Vatsayayan, Chairperson, India International Centre, New Delhi inaugurated the function

and Prof. Ramaranjan Mukherjee, Ex-Chancellor, Tirupati Samskrita Viswavidyalay, & Ex-Vice chancellor, Burdwan and Rabindra Bharati Universities, presided

on Friday, February 2, 2001 at 10.30 a.m. The exhibition continued till 5th February, 2001, 11 a.m. to 7p.m. daily

THE ALPHABET TREE, inaugurated on 18th May 2001 to and gifted by the Indian Museum at the Bhasha Udyan (Surendranath Park). Among the dignitaries present were Prof. Pabitra Sirkar, Sri Kumar Roy, Dr. Swaroj Ghosh, Prof. Bratin Mukherjee, Sri Jyoti Bhushan Chaki and Sayed Mustafa Siraj.

The Alphabet Tree is a permanent exhibit.

Sri Jaikishandas Sadani--Editor, Bharatiya Sanaskriti Samsad will deliver an illustrated talk on 'Queen's stepwell -the underground shrine' -a star tourist attraction at Patan, Gujarat.

A special issue of Indian Museum Bulletin containing research papers on Ashokan studies will be released on this occasion followed by dance recital by Smt. Nandini Ghosal and Smt. Kashmira Samanta.
