The Zoological galleries at the Indian Museum (under the Zoological Survey of India) were set up in 1878 with the primary objective of exhibiting the specimens for education and conservation purposes. The newly renovated gallery holds a vast collection of unique stuffed mammals from India and around the globe. There are a total of 314 exhibits, some of which are more than 100 years old. The collection includes stuffed animals, horns, antlers, skeletons, trophy heads, and skulls.
